REPAIR & CARE

Every MIDAAS TOUCH piece is handcrafted in small batches, in 92.5 hallmarked sterling silver. Cared for simply, it will outlast the trends it was never designed to follow.

This guide covers how to look after your piece, what to do if something goes wrong, and how we stand behind what we make.

CARING FOR YOUR PIECE

Silver asks very little. Most of what keeps a piece beautiful is habit rather than effort.

The simplest rule: last on, first off. Put your jewellery on after fragrance, lotion and hairspray have settled. Take it off before you wash, swim, sleep or exercise.

After wearing, wipe your piece gently with a soft, dry cloth to lift skin oils and everyday residue.

When storing, keep each piece separately in a dry, enclosed space — the pouch or box it arrived in is ideal. Silver scratches silver, and moisture is what dulls it.

Always avoid chlorine, salt water, perfume, cosmetics, household cleaning products and hand sanitiser. These are what damage silver, not time.

CARE BY FINISH

Not every piece in our collection is finished the same way, and the care differs more than you might expect. Find your piece below.

Polished Sterling Silver

Our brightest finish, on pieces such as the Titan Link and Eclipse Spiral bracelets.

  • Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after each wear
  • Use a silver polishing cloth when the shine dulls — this is safe on polished silver
  • Never use toothpaste or abrasive household cleaners; they leave fine permanent scratches
  • For heavier tarnish, warm water with a little mild soap, then dry thoroughly
  • Store dry and enclosed, away from other pieces

On tarnish:
all genuine sterling silver darkens over time. This is a reaction between the copper in the alloy and the air — it is proof the silver is real, not a flaw. It lifts away easily.

Oxidised Silver

The deep, shadowed finish on many of our bangles, cuffs and bracelets — the Vanya Leaf bangles, the Regal Petal cuff, the Viking Braid bracelet and others.

Do not use a silver polishing cloth on oxidised pieces. The dark patina is a deliberate surface treatment, and polishing will lift it away — permanently, and unevenly.

  • Wipe only with a soft, dry cloth, and only lightly
  • Never use silver dips, polishing cloths, polishing pastes or abrasive cleaners
  • Clean recessed detail with a dry, soft-bristled brush — never a wet or stiff one
  • Expect the raised surfaces to brighten gently with wear. This contrast is the design working as intended
  • Store separately, away from polished pieces

Gold-Plated Silver

Pieces such as the Ruby Radiance Floral Kada and the Aarunya Emerald Eye bracelet carry a gold layer over sterling silver.

  • Clean with a soft, dry cloth only — never a silver polishing cloth, which will wear the plating away
  • Keep away from water, perfume, cosmetics and cleaning products, all of which shorten the life of the plating
  • Remove before sleeping to prevent friction wear
  • Store in a soft pouch, not loose alongside other pieces

A note on plating: all gold plating thins with wear. How quickly depends on skin chemistry, frequency of wear and exposure. This is the nature of the finish rather than a defect.

Stained & Coloured Finishes

Our Peach Pearl and Lavender Whisper sets carry a coloured surface treatment.

  • Soft, dry cloth only
  • No polishing cloths, dips or abrasives of any kind — colour will lift
  • Keep away from alcohol, solvents, perfume and sanitiser
  • Store away from direct sunlight

Gemstone Settings

Emerald, sapphire, ruby and crystal appear across our anklets, bracelets and cuffs.

  • Wipe the metal around the stone with a dry cloth, avoiding the setting itself
  • Never soak, and never use an ultrasonic or steam cleaner — both can loosen settings
  • Check settings occasionally by gently pressing the stone; if it shifts, stop wearing the piece and write to us
  • Remove before any activity where the piece might knock against a hard surface

Pearl, Coral & Turquoise

The most delicate materials we work with — found in our Moon Pearl and Turquoise Majesty bangle sets and Ocean Whisper set.

  • These are porous, organic materials. Water, perfume, cosmetics and even perspiration will dull or discolour them over time
  • Wipe with a slightly damp soft cloth, then dry immediately
  • Never soak, and never use any cleaning solution
  • Store flat, wrapped in soft cloth, away from harder pieces
  • Apply all cosmetics and fragrance well before putting the piece on

Beaded Pieces

Our Guardian Charm and Black Bead bracelets combine silver with strung beads.

  • Keep dry; moisture weakens the thread over time
  • Support the piece from below rather than pulling it on or off by the strand
  • Avoid perfume and oils, which travel along the thread
  • Store flat rather than hanging, to avoid stretching

Filigree

Our Silver Blossom, Lotus Muse and Floral Symphony brooches are worked in fine openwork.

  • Handle by the solid frame rather than the openwork, which bends under light pressure
  • Clean with a soft, dry cloth pressed gently — never brushed, which catches and distorts the pattern
  • Store in its own box or pouch, never beneath heavier pieces
  • Fasten to fabric with the pin fully seated to avoid strain

Silver Coins

Our 1g, 5g, 10g and 20g coins are collectors' pieces, and they follow different rules entirely.

Do not clean, polish or wipe your coin. Cleaning silver bullion removes surface metal and permanently reduces both its value and its finish — even a soft cloth leaves microscopic scratches.

  • Handle by the edges only, ideally with clean, dry hands or cotton gloves
  • Leave the coin sealed in its original packaging wherever possible
  • Store somewhere cool, dry and stable
  • Natural toning over years is expected, and to many collectors it is desirable

Children's Jewellery

Our children's bracelets are made in the same 92.5 sterling silver as everything else, and contain no nickel.

  • Remove before sleeping, bathing and play, both for the piece and for safety
  • Check clasps and fastenings regularly for wear
  • Store out of reach of very young children, as smaller components present a choking risk
  • Adult supervision is recommended when putting the piece on and taking it off

REPAIR PROCESS

Is your MIDAAS TOUCH piece broken or not performing as it should? Write to us at support@midaastouch.com with your order number, a clear description of the issue, and photographs.

Please always ensure you have proof of shipment and pack your piece carefully if you need to send it to us — it remains your responsibility until it reaches us, and we advise sending it registered and insured.

After we've assessed your piece, we'll let you know whether the repair falls under warranty:

  • If it does, the repair will be initiated immediately. We aim to complete repairs within two weeks. Once ready, you'll receive notification from us. A proof of purchase is always required for warranty claims.
  • If it doesn't — whether the issue falls outside the warranty terms below or the warranty period has expired — we'll share a price quote with you first. If you agree, the repair goes ahead and you'll receive an invoice by email; once payment is received, your piece is shipped back to you. If you'd rather not proceed, your piece will be returned unrepaired, and we charge return and inspection costs of €12.50.

Please do not send anything to us without prior confirmation. Items sent without approval may not be accepted.

WARRANTY ON REPAIRS WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD

If an item has been repaired (or exchanged due to a defect), the warranty is extended for the same duration as the original warranty period — but only for the specific part that was repaired. Any subsequent claim concerning a different issue remains subject to the original warranty period, calculated from your original purchase date.

Gold-Plated Silver: Replating Within the Warranty Period

If your item has been replated, the warranty applies only to the replating, for a period of 9 (nine) months, provided our recommended care guidance has been followed. For all other claims, the original warranty period from your purchase date remains applicable.

If a request for replating is made again after a piece has already been replated twice within the warranty period, we'll offer a suitable alternative. In some cases, individual skin chemistry affects plating durability enough that repeated replating doesn't provide a lasting solution.

Repairs or Replating Outside the Warranty Period

If a repair or replating is carried out outside the warranty period and against payment, the same guidelines apply as above: a new warranty applies only to the repaired or replated component, for a duration equal to the original warranty period. Any subsequent claim relating to a different issue falls outside this scope and won't be repaired free of charge.

WARRANTY

Sterling Silver & Oxidised Silver Jewellery

All MIDAAS TOUCH sterling silver jewellery — polished or oxidised — comes with a 12 (twelve) month product warranty covering construction and manufacturing defects.

Gold-Plated Silver Jewellery

The silver construction of our gold-plated pieces carries the same 12 (twelve) month warranty. The gold plating itself carries a separate warranty of 9 (nine) months from the purchase date. Should the plating fade abnormally within this period, we'll re-gild your piece free of charge. After 9 months, replating is available on request for a fee.

Gemstone, Pearl, Coral, Turquoise, Beaded & Filigree Pieces

The silver construction and setting of these pieces carries the same 12 (twelve) month warranty against manufacturing defects. Natural stones, pearls, coral, turquoise and beading are living materials that vary and change with wear — see the exceptions below.

Silver Coins

Our coins are collector's bullion rather than wearable jewellery, so this construction warranty doesn't apply in the same way. We guarantee the stated purity and weight of every coin at the time of sale.

Children's Jewellery

Covered under the same 12 (twelve) month warranty as our adult sterling silver pieces.

Exceptions

The warranty does not apply in the following cases:

  • Damage, wear or defects due to excessive or improper use, or physical changes
  • Discolouration of moving parts such as clasps
  • Lack of maintenance and hygiene — see the care guidance above
  • Repairs carried out by unauthorised persons, or damage resulting from such repairs
  • Jewellery purchased from unauthorised resellers, or during clearance or sample sales
  • Loosened or lost stones resulting from impact
  • Natural colour change to pearl, coral or turquoise from water, cosmetics or perspiration
  • Cleaned or polished silver coins

For warranty claims, a proof of purchase is always required. If your piece doesn't meet reasonable expectations, we'll resolve it. Following the care guidance above is the simplest way to keep your warranty intact.

This warranty sits alongside, and does not limit, your statutory rights under EU consumer law.

Replating Service

For gold-plated jewellery that has lost its sheen, we offer a replating service for a fee. This includes polishing and re-gilding the piece, unless there is deeper damage. For more information, email support@midaastouch.com.

IF YOUR PIECE ARRIVES FAULTY, DAMAGED OR INCORRECT

Contact us within 48 hours of delivery at support@midaastouch.com with clear photographs of the item and its packaging. This applies even to engraved and personalised pieces, and doesn't affect your statutory rights under EU law.

SIZING, RESIZING & PERSONALISATION

Engraved, resized and custom-made pieces cannot be returned, exchanged or cancelled once confirmed, as each is made specifically for you. The one exception is a genuine fault. Please take a moment to check your size and engraving text carefully before ordering.

Earrings cannot be returned or exchanged for hygiene reasons, unless faulty.

For everything else, you may return an unworn piece within 14 days of delivery under your EU right of withdrawal. Full details are on our Terms & Conditions page.
